APL Scan
The APL scan feature allows you to find particular lines
of information within large lists of records for an APL segment, particularly
Segments D and F.
To
use the scan feature
- Click the Database
menu, highlight Navy, and click APL/AEL.
- Enter 00000179
in the RIC/APL/AEL field, and
then click Search.
The Current APL page opens with the Segment D tab in view.
- You can scan this list
by a specific FSC code, NIIN, CAGE, or Part/Ref No. All of these headings have text box search fields under the heading. For this example,
enter 5940 in the FSC text box
in the FSC column, and then click the
Go! button or Enter on your keyboard. The list is not only sorted
by this FSC code, it is also reduced to much fewer records.
- To clear the list and
return to your original results list, click the Clear
button.
Hover your mouse of the graphic to enlarge it.
- You can also sort your
APL records by a specific column. For example, click the FSC black
square in the FSC header column. Your list will be sorted in ascending
order.
Notice that the square turns into a triangle, indicating
the FSC column has sorted the list in ascending order. If you click the triangle, it will
resort the list in descending order.
- To return to your original
list without any sorting, click the Back
button at the top left of your screen. a
