The GIDEPGovernment-Industry Data Exchange Program -
Department of Defense program established to facilitate sharing of technical information between government agencies and industry partners to increase systems safety, reliability, and readiness and to reduce systems development, production, and ownership costs. database is established by the Department of Defense for collecting and disseminating information about nonconforming products and materials. It is a cooperative effort to exchange research, development, design, testing, acquisition and logistics information among government and industry participants. GIDEP seeks to reduce or eliminate expenditures of time and money. The proper utilization of GIDEP data can materially improve the total quality and reliability of systems and components during the acquisition and logistics phases of the life cycle.

To do a GIDEP search
- Click Database > Supplemental Databases > GIDEP Alerts.
- Type 105056* in the Part Number
A 32-character field containing the part number assigned by the manufacturer. In some cases, the part number field is used to identify a drawing, or the source or specification controlling number of the item identified by the National Stock Number (NSN). Part Number is also known as the Reference Number. field and click Search.
Where additional terms in other fields are included, Haystack Gold attaches the terms using a Boolean AND modifier.
The results window appears.
- Select from the following:
- Document Number - launch the GIDEP website to access the document.
- CAGE Code - display CAGE
Commercial Activity Government Entity - listings of firms that manufacture or distribute items procured by the U.S. Government; also known as the Federal Supply Code for Manufacturers. The following are the types of activities and documents that are assigned CAGE Codes: Manufacturers; Vendors; Government agencies who manufacture an item of supply; Government agencies that control the development of government specifications and/or standards; Government specifications or standards when no single government source can be identified; NATO manufacturers. details in a new modal window.
- NSN
National Stock Number - a 13-digit number assigned to a part under the Federal Cataloging Program. The first four digits of the NSN are the Federal Supply Class (FSC) of the part. The last nine digits are the National Item Identification Number (NIIN) of the part. - display NSN numbers related to the current document in an interim window. From this window, you can launch a detail window for a given NSN, INC
Item Name Code - a five-digit number assigned by the Defense Logistics Service (DLS) to each approved item name., or display a related PDF. The content of this interim window can be exported in Microsoft Excel or CSV format, or printed.
- Export/Print - output the item to XLS, CSV, or paper format.
