Batch Upload Settings
The Batch Upload screen includes the following fields
and functions:
- Title
- This is an optional field on the Batch Upload and Input screens. It's
primary use is to help you identify a Batch Job.
- Description
- This is an optional field on the Batch Upload and Batch Entry Settings
screens. It's primary use is to help you identify the type of data you
are uploading while the Batch Upload or Batch Input process is in progress.
- Output
Name - This is an optional field on the Batch Input and Upload
screens. It's primary use is to help you identify the Batch Job file in
a Batch Status list. If you do not enter a name, a generic name (such
as IHSBatch.zip)
is displayed. It is recommended that you do not use special characters.
- Output
Format - The Output Format is the format that displays when you
have performed a Batch Job, and then the file is opened with that format.
There are default output formats and you can also create a format and
edit it at any time.
- Create
Button - When you select an Output Format type on a regular Batch
Upload or Batch Input, you have
the option of creating a new format with report parameters of your choice.
To create a new format, click the Create
button on the Batch Entry Settings
screen to open the Create
a New Output Format screen.
- Archive
Type - The Archive Type field defines how your file is saved. If
you select None, your file
will be saved in the file type you selected from the Output Format pull-down
menu. If you select PKZIP Compression,
your batch job file is saved as a WinZip file that you can either open
or save to your desktop.
- Input
Key Type - The Input Key Type field pull-down menu allows you to
select what criteria your batch job searches. The options are NIIN/NSN,
Part No, Part No, CAGE, or CAGE/Address.
- Exact
Part Number Matching (with punctuation) - The Exact
Part Numbers Matching check box option results in an output
that only includes the Input Key Type you selected from the pull-down
menu that match a FLIS record with the exact same key type, including
dashes, slashes, spaces, etc.
- Input
Format - The Input Format options on the Batch Upload screen are
used to identify the output format of your uploaded text file. The options
are Fixed Width and Delimited.
- Input
File - When uploading a file with Batch Upload, the Input
File needs to be a text file consisting of only the data available
in the Input Key Type pull-down menu.
