To access the NATO master catalog
- Select Database > NATO NMCRL.
The NATO/NMCRL Search page appears.
- Type search criteria based on the following criteria for the different search fields:
- Part Number
A 32-character field containing the part number assigned by the manufacturer. In some cases, the part number field is used to identify a drawing, or the source or specification controlling number of the item identified by the National Stock Number (NSN). Part Number is also known as the Reference Number. - Supports %, * (multi-character) and _ (single character) wildcards.
- NSN
National Stock Number - a 13-digit number assigned to a part under the Federal Cataloging Program. The first four digits of the NSN are the Federal Supply Class (FSC) of the part. The last nine digits are the National Item Identification Number (NIIN) of the part./NIIN
National Item Identification Number - nine-digit number assigned to a part under the Federal Cataloging Program. It is the last nine digits of the National Stock Number. - Supports %, * (multi-character) and _ (single character) wildcards. 16 (NSN) or 11 (NIIN) characters with hyphens, or 13 (NSN) or 9 (NIIN) characters without hyphens. Search multiple NSN or NIIN attributes at a time by separating terms with a semicolon.
- Item Name
The approved name of the item (as established by the Federal Cataloging Program) may assist in verifying the item prior to requisitioning. The length of an item's name is restricted to its first 19 characters. The item name is usually made up of a basic name such as "saw" which covers a broad area of related items, followed by modifiers such as "hand crosscut." - Does not support wildcards. Displays type-ahead functionality and the option to search for similar text.
- NCAGE
NATO Commercial and Governmental Entity - code assigned to Foreign registrants in the Central Contract Registry. NCAGEs are obtained by contacting the National Codification Bureau (NCB) of the country where an organization is located. Companies with an address containing APO, FPO, or AE do not need an NCAGE. NCAGE was formerly known as a NATO Supply Code for Manufacturers (NSCM). Code(s) - Search multiple NCAGE codes at a time by separating terms with a semicolon. Click the NCAGE Code link to display a popup window where you select from a list of potential matches, and then click Continue to populate the NCAGE Code field with your selection.
- Vendor Name
The company/division that manufactures and/or sells the part. - Displays type-ahead functionality and the option to search for similar text. Search multiple vendor names at a time by separating terms with a semicolon.
- NSC
National Safety Council - a nonprofit, nongovernmental, international public service organization dedicated to protecting life and promoting health. The NSC is a membership organization, founded in 1913 and chartered by the U.S. Congress in 1953. Members include more than 48,000 businesses, labor organizations, schools, public agencies, private groups and individuals. - Click the NSC link to display a popup window where you select from a list of potential matches, and then click Continue to populate the NSC field with your selection.

- Click Print/List.
